Gel is turning 40! And we’re celebrating it with a huge party on Saturday 30 November 2024: an ALL-DAYER in YadaYada at HEMbrugterrein in Zaandam. With swinging music, a big dancefloor and lots of activities. With our members and dancers from the Netherlands and abroad, and whoever has ever danced at Gel.

From 14:00 onwards dj Swinging Rockin’ Daddy and dj JayCee will spin their finest records before, between and after all band sets. But there’s even more to do!

Activities

  • Vintage market with stands for clothing, souvenirs, records and more! (from 14:00 onwards)
  • Advanced workshop by Geert and Willemine of Let’s Swing (14:30 – 15:25, own/common partner only, limited)
  • Hairstyling by Bellamel, Lady Polkadot and Mirakels Mooi (16:00 – 20:00, €8 contribution)
  • Beginners workshop by our teachers (17:00 – 17:55, limited)

Food & drinks

If you ordered dinner, it’s ready between 18:30 en 20:00. In addition Glenn’s Patat will bake fries and snacks all day.

Route/parking/public transport

The HEMbrugterrein has a large parking space available where you can park for free! Do you drive an oldtimer? Please inform us, so we can reserve a nice spot and some drink vouchers.
Cycling from Amsterdam? Take the free ferry from Hempontplein, which goes back and forth 24 hours a day.

From Zaandam Station to the venue, there’s a few options you can choose from.

  • Public transport bike. To get to these bikes, leave Zaandam Station on the left and follow the signs straight ahead, go left via the curb to get to the bike shed (open until 2:20 at night). Tip: you can use the NS app to check whether there’s any bikes available.
  • Bus. Line 64 travels every 30 minutes to bus stop Hembrugterrein. Note: the last bus back to Zaandam Station leaves at 23:48!
  • Traveling during the night. From Zaandam Station, a night bus travel to Amsterdam Central (N94). During the weekend, there’s night trains and extra late trains going. Travelling from far? Plan your trip here.

Tickets

All tickets have been sold out! We will not sell at the door. Hopefully you did order? Your tickets will be at the entrance (by name).

When someone offers tickets, e.g. on Facebook, watch out for scams. Unless you know the seller, contact us to check before paying.

Stay the night?

You want to dance all day and night, until the dance floor gets wiped. Do you come from far and need a bed close by? We searched around a bit for nice places. Of course there are a lot of hotels in and around Amsterdam. Some affordable examples:
